The Epworth Sleepiness Scale
The Epworth Sleepiness Scale is designed to measure daytime sleepiness and is helpful in diagnosing sleep disorders.
To take the test you need to answer the following eight questions. Each question is designed to assess how likely you would be to doze off or fall asleep in a variety of situations.
Remember, or imagine, doing the following eight activities in recent times. For each situation use the scale to indicate how likely you would be to doze off or fall asleep, in contrast to feeling just tired.
For each of the situations listed below please SELECT number to indicate how likely you would be to doze off or fall asleep, in contrast to feeling just tired. Then add up each number circled for your total score. The test is used as a measure of daytime sleepiness.
0 = Would never doze or sleep 2 = Moderate chance of dozing or sleeping
1= Slight Chance of dozing or sleeping 3 = Highly chance of dozing or sleeping
